THE ILLEGIBLE TRADITION CONTINUES...
Following the continued goal of spreading the underground talent found in Lansing Michigan's Illegible Records, the independent music label has broadened it's reach by formally launching a dedicated internet radio station.
A previous version had been launched earlier in 2007 but the fledgling effort quickly fell to limited programming and marginal experience. Redesigning and revamping the structure was the first of many steps to bring bigger and better exposure to these particular independent artists. After that, making it easier for the fans of the music to find it was just as important. In the end, with the efforts of supporters, staff members and the musicians themselves, Illegible Radio has found itself reborn with far more exciting and bold features than before. "I've said it before," says Eric Blades, Illegible Records head and now station manager for Illegible Radio "this is all primarily about making our art less hard to find." He adds "When Illegible Records was started, it was in response to overcoming difficulties in approaching major labels. This is the same mentality - overcoming limited opportunities for independent exposure." But this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg - Illegible Radio has a lot to share and broadcasting has only just begun... |
